This season is being run in conjunction with NSE, and is only open to individuals that have Student or Alumni status with NSE - The link to the NSE website can be found here.
All drivers must also join the Discord here.
Racers must abide by the BUSR Rulebook. Please familiarise yourself with them before racing. The Rulebook can be found here.
Practice: 17:00
Qualifying: 19:00
Race: 19:20
All times are local times to the UK.
We will be running two formats in this season:
Endurance Format - Quali: 15mins; Race: 75mins*
Sprint Format - Quali: 10mins; Sprint Race: 20mins; Feature Race: 45mins*
*1 mandatory pitstop for fuel - Refuelling time will be fixed to 25secs. Changing tyres is permitted but not required.
In the Sprint Format, the result of the Sprint Race will set the grid for the Feature Race - A new server will be made available to accommodate this.
You can see which format is being run at each round in the Races tab.
Due to SimGrid limitations, the points distribution for each race will be made available in the Discord server. There is 1 point available for the fastest valid lap in each race, as long as said driver finishes in the Top 15 in the respective classification.
Dynamic weather is enabled. There is 1 drop round per competitor.
This series will utilise Low Fuel Motorsport's Balance of Performance at all circuits for all cars that are covered by their system. A link to their BoP can be found here.
For all car/track combinations that are not covered by Low Fuel Motorsport, a custom BoP weight of -40kg will be applied, with the exception of 2 cars:
The McLaren 720S GT3 (2019) and Porsche 911 II GT3 R (2019) will instead use Pitskill's Balance of Performance (PitBOP) with an offset of +20kg to maintain competitive integrity. PitBOP can be found here.
The Balance of Performance for each round will be announced when the Practice Server for each round goes live. After the Practice Server goes live, the Balance of Performance will not be changed.
This series will be live-stewarded, using ACC Race Control. Drivers will also be allowed to report incidents and appeal penalties as per the relevant forms distributed through the BUSR Discord server. Any incidents will be reviewed and punished as per the rulebook.
All members are eligible to compete in the GT3 class. Verified students signed up to NSE are required to sign up to the Student Class, and verified alumni signed up to NSE are required to sign up to the Alumni Class.
All competitors must also sign up to the NSE championship page, which can be found here.
Please note that the maximum number of participants that are able to compete in each event is 50. In the event that more than 50 drivers sign up, preference will be given to the Students Class, followed by the Alumni Class, in the order that participants signed up to the series.
If you are unable to attend a certain event, we strongly encourage you to sign out of the specific event as this may allow your race spot to go to another driver.
All GT3 are eligible for this series. Competitors will only be permitted to change cars before their first competitive session of the season, or between Rounds 3 and 4 with no penalty - Requests to change cars outside of this time period will be denied.
SimGrid will allow you to use a number that has already been selected in a different class. Please be aware that another driver/team may already be using your preferred number. Car numbers are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. The organisers will inform any teams with a duplicated car number to change their number in advance of the event. Competitors are not allowed to change their car number once it has been used in a competitive session.
Custom liveries will be enabled for this event. A form will be made available in the Discord for uploading liveries. In-game created liveries should also be uploaded.
When drivers are allowed to change cars between Rounds 3 and 4, the livery submission form will be reopened.
