SIMGRID X VCO WORLD CUP TERMS & CONDITIONS

The protection of the dignity of the individual involved in Sim Racing is a fundamental construct of the SimGrid x VCO World Cup series. The specific rules for the behavior of drivers and teams (and their associates) are as follows;

  1. Prize Money and Sponsor Prizes
    1. The prize pool for the SimGrid x VCO World Cup is $10,000(ten thousand) USD;
    2. The prize pool will be split between the Top 20 teams in the final results of the race held on Saturday 17th December 2022;
    3. All prize money winning teams will be contacted via Discord and requested to provide payment details in order to receive their prize money;
    4. SimGrid may request an invoice. If requested, an invoice must be submitted before any prize money can be paid;
  2. Custom Livery Logo Placement
    1. 1 x ā€œSimGridā€ Logo must be present on the doors of the competing car. It should be visible for broadcast purposes and thus of a reasonable size;
    2. 1 x ā€œVCOā€ Logo must be present anywhere on the side of the competing car. It should be visible for broadcast purposes and thus of a reasonable size;
    3. 1 x "Coach Dave Academy" Logo must be present anywhere on the side or rear of the car. However it must be visible for broadcast purposes and thus of a reasonable size;
    4. Window Banner must be set to either the black or white "Fanatec" banner;
    5. The Series Organisers will be available for contact by drivers, whereby there is a need for clarification or reviewal of logo placement;
    6. To be shown on the YouTube broadcast, custom liveries must be packaged correctly and uploaded to this folder.
  3. Interview Rules
    1. Teams must be prepared to send a driver or team manager to interview if an interview is requested by the Series Organizer;
    2. Teams may be requested to attend an interview at any time - except during any of the active qualifying sessions;
    3. The team that qualifies on Pole position during Friday's Super Pole session, is required to send a driver to come onto the live stream and talk through a recording of their lap during Saturday's pre-race show;
    4. Teams and drivers are reminded that all race interviews are broadcast live, and thus all; Offensive/Unsportsmanlike and defamatory comments made during interviews may be penalized.
  4. Telemetry & Replays
    1. It is mandatory that drivers record telemetry on all laps set in official sessions of the SimGrid x VCO World Cup;
      1. Official sessions refers to Free Practice, Qualifying, Super Pole and the Race;
      2. Failure to record and provide telemetry if requested by the Series Organizer will result in a penalty/disqualification.
    2. The 5 drivers participating in the Top 5 Super Pole on Friday 16th December must submit their telemetry from each qualifying session to SimGrid, within 2 hours of the Super Pole ending;
      1. Failure to submit the telemetry files in the provided time frame will result in the Super Pole lap being deleted and the team demoted to the back of the grid.
  5. Social Media Conduct
    1. Drivers posting negative, disruptive and/or brand-damaging content on social media about the following may result in the driver being disqualified from the series:
      1. SimGrid x VCO World Cup;
      2. Race Administration, Stewards or any series staff; 
      3. Assetto Corsa Competizione (In the sphere of the SimGrid x VCO World Cup series);
      4. Fellow Teams & Drivers of the series;
      5. Any faults of Game Software/Broadcast Failure or similar, pertaining to the SimGrid x VCO World Cup.
  6. General Conduct
    1. All drivers are expected to respect the rights, dignity and worth of all competition participants, regardless of; Ability, Gender, Cultural Background or any factor that may lead to discrimination. Some key points that are reflected in the rules but are especially important are;
      1. Do not bully or conduct unsportsmanlike behavior to other competitors;
      2. Verbal abuse, provocation or aggression towards other competitors, series organizers and stewards are explicitly forbidden and will result in penalties and/or disqualification;
      3. In the event that you disagree with a decision of the stewards, teams can file their one appeal via the appeal form to submit an appeal against the decision and provide an explanation on why they disagree with the ruling. Any other reaction beyond this is a breach of the general conduct and will result in penalties and/or disqualification.
  7. Bonus $1000 Prize Pool for Paul Ricard 6H
    1. A bonus prize pool of $1000 (one thousand) USD has been made available for the SimGrid x VCO World Cup Paul Ricard 6H held on January 27-28th. This bonus prize pool will be allocated based on five different criteria, each with an equal share of $200. These are:
      1. $200 - Best Overtake of the Race (Teams are responsible for recording and submitting their own clips)
      2. $200 - Fastest Lap of the Race
      3. $200 - Most positions gained during the race (Based on qualifying position)
      4. $200 - Pole Position
      5. $200 - Best Social Media Post (Most likes on a post)
    2. To submit an overtake for the ā€œBest Overtake of the Raceā€ of the race award;
      1. Teams must record a clip of the overtake and upload a link to this clip using a form that will be provided;
      2. Teams must make note of the lap the overtake took place on as the form will require this information when submitting.
    3. The ā€œBest Overtake of the Raceā€ award will be decided by the SimGrid x VCO organizing committee.
    4. To be eligible for the ā€œBest Social Media Postā€ award;
      1. The original post must come from the teams Official Twitter account;
        1. Posts from drivers, sponsors etc. affiliated with a team will not be eligible;
        2. Retweeting posts made by others will not be eligible.
      2. The Twitter post must use the following hashtag; #SimGridxVCO
        1. Any Twitter posts made without the hashtag applied will not be eligible.
    5. Posts made anytime prior to the event, and by 17:00 GMT on Sunday 29th January will be eligible for the award.
    6. To be eligible for the ā€œFastest Lap of the Raceā€ award the team must complete the race by taking the chequered flag;
      1. The team must also have completed 90% of the race laps to be eligible to win the award;
      2. If the team with the fastest lap doesn't finish the race, the award will go to the next fastest team that finished the race.
    7. The Pole Position award is given to the team that finishes in 1st place in the Super Pole session held on Friday 27th January.
