2024 Charity Event rules and regulations

Foreword

The 2024 Positive Perception charity event has had to be rejigged! After a failed uptake of numbers for the original AC plan, we’ve gone back to the community and we will be hosting this years charity event on ACC.

As this is a charity event; teams will be expected to make a donation via a justgiving link that will be available in the PosPer Endurance discord: Teams who fail to make a donation by the deadline set may have their entry removed, or a penalty applied mid race. There is NO minimum donation amount - as per last year's 24.

These are the Rules and Regulations for this event, which we expect each team and driver to follow in their entirety. The series organisers would like to take this opportunity to thank each team and driver for their commitment to this event as well as to the charity we have chosen to support this time around.

1, Main details

Circuit: Silverstone GP Date: 01/06/24 - 02/06/24 Time: 13.00 UK start Classes: GT3, GT4,

There are no mods needed for this event.

2. Basic notes

  1. The event is run over a set period of 24 hours. Starting with a one hour qualifying session at 13:00 UK time on 01/06/24, with the race starting after this and running until approx 14:00 UK time on 02/06/24.

  2. Should the server go down for any reason during this period, then a restart will be enabled ASAP. If the server goes down within the final ÂĽ of the race distance remaining, the event will be called as Finished and results taken from this point.

  3. GT3 and GT4 class entries have the full choice of cars in ACC available to them. We would like to see a selection of varying brands on track, therefore ballast and/or restrictor penalties may apply if too many from one brand are chosen at signup.

  4. We will monitor the BOP situation from LFM and Pitskill and make a decision on custom bop no later than 3 weeks before the event starts.

  5. All teams are expected to make a donation via the official link to the charity chosen. Your entry is only considered valid and accepted once this has been done. This link will be available in the PosPer Endurance discord.

  6. Teams should be formed from a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 drivers.

    1. As per last year if there are any drivers contemplating taking on the challenge of racing SOLO, this can be accommodated but you must get in contact with one of the Admin or Staff to arrange.

  7. Drivers will be limited to a 70 minute stint timer.

3. Cars and Classes

GT3 - 40 Teams

GT4 - 20 Teams

These are hard limits, and we will not be changing numbers allowed per class.

4. Driver Swap

  1. The standard ACC driver swap system will be used. Teams are reminded that they should ensure they know who is “Driver One” as per their signup, and they should make sure that “Driver One” is always the first driver to enter the server, and be driving before other team members can join. Teams that enter incorrectly, will be penalised.

  2. A maximum of 2 drivers per team will be permitted onto the server at any time. We are able to monitor this.

  3. We will ONLY facilitate ONE server restart for any team that enters in the correct order.

5. Stewarding

  1. This event will be live stewarded by the admin/staff from PosPer as well as a handful of volunteers from our eSports team.

  2. A protest form will be available for the duration of the event, and it is the team's responsibility to provide evidence to support any protests made.

  3. Evidence submitted should be concise and feature a tail view from all cars involved in an incident, plus inputs.

  4. The PosPer admin will try to ensure a replay file from each hour of racing is made available in a specific channel in the PosPer Endurance discord, but please do not rely on us to do so.

  5. Stewards' decisions are final.

  6. Stewards have the power to administer time penalties and drive through penalties depending on the severity of the actions witnessed. Time penalties will always be served at your next pit stop.

NB - The stewards are doing this voluntarily and in their own time. Abuse towards them will not be tolerated and could see your team removed from the event. The same applies to the chatter channel in the PosPer Endurance Discord; any abuse towards teams and/or admins and/or discussions of incidents could be met with penalty. An apology goes a long way in any incident - there will be an apology channel setup in the discord.

6, Custom Liveries

  1. Custom liveries are of course encouraged for the event, and we welcome any submissions - There will be a firm deadline of 01/06/24 10:00 for any livery to be included.

  2. Liveries should be free of any explicit graphics, language or connotations. The PosPer Admins decision is final on whether to allow or disallow a livery.

  3. Teams must run at least one logo from the Charity on any custom livery.

  4. Liveries should be submitted via the Awesome Sim Racing tools collection. A link to which will be made available in the PosPer Endurance discord.

7, Racing Rules

  1. This is an endurance race, and as such, you cannot win the race in the first hour, half hour, minute or first corner of competition. Stewards will be applying harsher penalties for any incidents that occur in the first lap of the race compared to the rest of the event.

  2. We will be using the standard, in game rolling start procedure of one full formation lap.

  3. Obey the pit entry and exits as you would do in normal racing.

  4. The Sim will handle any track cut deviations, and relevant penalties for Pit lane infringements. These will NOT be cleared by the admins.

  5. Blue flags -

    1. Slower cars are to make themselves predictable, this can be easily achieved by staying on the racing line and not weaving to block faster cars.

    2. Faster cars have the responsibility to pass slower cars cleanly and safely. There are plenty of straights where this can be achieved.

    3. Contact occurring through lapping will be looked at if reported.

  6. Yellow flags -

    1. In the case of a multiple car incident, the admin team may activate a FULL course yellow to enable those cars to extract themselves and return to the track/pits safely. The admins will type “FCY, FCY, FCY” in the Chat box in ACC, and a countdown to apply PIT LIMITER. Cars should then proceed on Pit Limiter for the duration of the FCY period. Pits will be open at this time.

    2. Likewise, a count will occur for removing the FCY.

    3. If you are approaching an area that has a waved yellow, please DO NOT overtake other cars, until you are clear of the incident area; and be mindful of any slower cars rejoining with damage.

8, Qualifying

  1. Qualifying will occur from when the server opens at 13:00 Hours (UK time) on the 1st June.

  2. GT4 Teams will have the first 30 minutes of the hour session to set their laps. Once 30 minutes has elapsed, GT3 teams will be allowed onto circuit. Any GT3 teams entering the live track before Admins have allowed (this will be typed in game chat and announced on discord) will incur a SG60 during the event.

  3. Any number of drivers in a team can attempt to set their fastest laps, and we will be using the top fastest lap per team to set the grid for the event.

  4. Any team that is seen to be deliberately failing to set a laptime (ie Last to First challenges) - Will be given a SG120 in the first hour of racing.

9, And Finally

  1. We’d like to thank all the backend staff who have made this event happen. If it wasn’t for them, your teams wouldn’t be able to compete and raise money for such an important cause.

  2. Special thanks also extends personally from Mark Raddenbury towards Colin Dunn and David Wressell, without whom, this event and any other put on by Positive Perception wouldn’t happen.
