OVERVIEW
The next sprint series to come out of SOP Motorsport is finally here. The newly sponsored 2022 Grid Finder world sprint championships. This championship will feature 7 rounds from around the world. All races will be 60 minutes in length with one mandatory stop for tyres. We will have both a PRO class (16 drivers) a SILVER class (16 drivers) and an AM class (13 drivers) in the one split for this series so we can crown three champions and have three seperate championship class battles as well as the overall champion from the one series. It will be down to the driver to pick the class they think they belong in. But we reserve the right to move drivers either up a class or down a class depending on the overall pace of the class. We will now also be rewarding the champions of each class with trophies for their efforts in this championship.
REGISTRATION The first 45 drivers to register will secure a slot in the series. It will be $5 to enter unless you are already an SOP Motorsport Patreon, in that case it will be free. This is to ensure drivers reserve their spot on the grid and also show up, otherwise you would be throwing money away. We will allow 10 reserves for this championship and so if registration is full, take one of the reserve spots and you will be moved into a permenant spot if a driver withdraws providing you pay the entry fee.
EVENT TIMETABLE Practice - 20:00 UTC (10 minutes) Qualifying - 20:10 UTC 30 minute split qualifiying (10 minutes per class) Race - 20:40 UTC (60 minute races)
PIT STOPS AND STINTS Every round will require one mandatory stop for tyres, the amount of fuel you put on board is optional.
STEWARDING This series will adopt post race stewarding only. Which can be found under the specific race of each round only.
RULES This series will impose a balance of performance based on how popular a specific car is regardless of wether you are in the PRO, SILVER or AM class. The BOP will be as follows:
-10 or more cars on the grid: 25kg ballast
-8 or more cars on the grid: 20kg ballast
-6 or more cars on the grid: 15 kg ballast
-4 or more cars on the grid: 10kg ballast
This will be reviewed every two rounds to ensure it remains a fair popularity ballast if drivers drop out of the series.
CUSTOM LIVERIES The use of custom liveries made outside of the game are permitted in this sprint series but please bear in mind that they are not officially supported by the game developers and their use can induce significant lag for the user. Any politically charged or potentially offensive material on a custom livery will see that driver banned from the series. To avoid the significant lag that custom liveries bring, we suggest that drivers run the livery but without the .png file. and that they do not load any other drivers livery into their own pc.
WITHDRAW AND RESERVES If a driver is unavailable to attend a round in the championship, then use the withdraw function. This is found by clicking on the `Races` tab, and then `Admin` on the round you need to withdraw from. There you will find the withdraw button. Please check the info tab to see how many signouts are permitted. If a driver has withdrawn from a race, but wish to attend the race after all, please contact a member of staff as the slot may have already been filled by a reserve driver.
