SECTION 5: START PROCEDURE

5.1 RACE BRIEFING IN THE EVENTS SECTION:

  • Prior to each race, all teams and drivers are required to attend the race briefing in the designated Events section. Important information about the upcoming race, including any specific instructions related to the start procedure, will be communicated during this briefing.

5.2 FULL FORMATION LAP:

  • A full formation lap will precede the start of each race. Drivers must follow their respective class leader in a single-file formation (Double for the final quarter of the formation lap). This lap serves to ensure that all systems are functioning correctly, and it provides an opportunity for teams to warm up their tires and brakes.

5.3 GAP BETWEEN CLASSES:

  • There will be a 15 second gap between each class. This staggered start is implemented to reduce the likelihood of inter-class incidents during the initial stages of the race.

5.4 START ZONE:

  • The designated start zone for each race will commence from the end of the last corner leading to the start-finish line. It is within this zone that the race will officially begin. Drivers are expected to maintain their formation and adhere to race regulations until they reach the start-finish line.

5.5 STARTING PROCEDURE:

  • The race will officially commence as the lead driver in each class reaches the start-finish line. It is imperative that drivers exercise caution and abide by fair play principles during the start procedure. Any premature acceleration, weaving, or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in penalties.

5.6 OVERTAKING during the start PROCEDURE:

  • Overtaking is permitted once the lead car  has accelerated in the start zone. Until then, drivers are expected to maintain their positions and refrain from aggressive manoeuvres. THE GREEN FLAG DOES NOT START THE RACE!!

5.7 ENFORCEMENT BY RACE STEWARDS:

  • Race stewards will closely monitor the start procedure and take appropriate action against any team or driver found in violation of the established rules. Penalties may include time penalties, DT penalties, or other measures deemed necessary to maintain fair competition.
