OVERVIEW
The next sprint series to come out of SOP Motorsport is finally here after a 4-week break from the action and we are going multiclass racing this summer. This is the Summer Showdown Multiclass Series. You must join our DISCORD. This championship will feature just 6 rounds across the championship. We will be visiting 3 tracks before our summer break back to back to back, followed by two weeks off for summer, before coming back into another 3 tracks back to back to back. We will also have 1 drop round in this championship so it will actually be your best 5 rounds that count from the 6. This is to accommodate drivers taking holidays over the summer months. We will have a GT3 class (24 drivers) and a GT4 class (24 drivers) in this series so we can have a proper multiclass championship. At least 50% of the races will be wet! So much for summer aye!
REGISTRATION
The first 24 drivers to register in each class will secure a slot in the series. We will have 10 reserves for each class in this championship, so if registration is full, take one of the reserve spots in the class you want to be in and you will be moved into a permanent spot if a driver withdraws. This championship is free to enter.
EVENT TIMETABLE
Practice - 20:00 BST (10 minutes) Qualifying - 20:10 BST (20 minutes - 10 minutes per split) Race - 20:30 BST (45-minute races) - X2 time progression used for every session. Full range of the weekend used.
PIT STOPS AND STINTS
Every round will require one mandatory stop, you will be limited to just 2 tyre sets for the entire weekend. Once you are in the server, if you leave the server and rejoin again between sessions to reset your tyres you will be handed a 15s penalty. NO REFUELLING will be active in the pitstops. You must fill your tank to start the race and the fuel tank gets locked.
STEWARDING
This series will adopt post-race stewarding only. Follow the incident report feature within the SOP Discord.
CUSTOM LIVERIES
The use of custom liveries made outside of the game is permitted in this sprint series. Any politically charged or potentially offensive material on a custom livery will see that driver banned from the series. We use Awesome SimRacing for all our livery needs, so be sure to upload your livery to our community and it will get synced with our broadcaster, you can do this here: SOP Motorsport community | Awesome Simracing (awesome-simracing.com)
WITHDRAW AND RESERVES
If a driver is unavailable to attend a round in the championship, then use the withdraw function. This is found by clicking on the `Races` tab, and then `Admin` on the round you need to withdraw from. There you will find the withdraw button. Please check the info tab to see how many sign-outs are permitted. If a driver has withdrawn from a race but wishes to attend the race after all, please contact a staff member as the slot may have already been filled by a reserve driver.
