Description and Instructions

Overview

Welcome to Delta Racing League's Second Mini Enduro. DRL is hosting this one-off event at COTA to tide you over until our next regular season begins.

Delta Racing League is a relaxed sim racing community that emphasize discussion and friendly attitudes, where beginners and veterans alike can race together, improve, banter, and - most importantly - have fun with a hobby we all share!

This event will require drivers be verified on Discord for participation, so please join the DRL Discord server and make sure you follow instructions in #rules to get the correct role. DRL requires all drivers have a minimum SA requirement of 50.

If the grid is full, we will remove unverified teams to make space for those on the waitlist who have been verified.

SERVER DETAILS

Server: [drlna] Delta Racing League | Mini Enduro 3 Hours of COTA

Password: See Discord Endurance Server-Info for the server password on the day of the race.

During the week prior to the race, the server will be used as a practice server with settings comparable to those during the race.

We expect a mix of drivers from around the world and everyone is welcome to participate; however we do require your ping to be good enough to not lead to dangerous lagging for other drivers. Be sure to log into the practice server prior to the event start to see if latency is tolerable

RULES AND RACING STANDARDS

Please check the #rules channel in the discord a link to the rulebook.

There will be live stewarding for this event. Delta Racing League uses ACC Race Control developed by Leonard Schüngel. The program allows stewards to review all incidents of contact between cars on track. This will greatly help out solo driver teams who previously have been unable to submit incident reports while driving.  The ever talented Moose McAdams will be heading the live broadcast on the DRL YouTube Channel.

Team and Class Regestration

If you have raced with Delta Racing League before you know which class you should be signing up for--Don't be that driver! If you are unsure which category to signup under: the last DRL event at COTA had the top AM drivers Qualifying around 2:09 flat. If any driver on the team can consistently run under 2:09 your team should register in the PRO category Our Iron Driver Category is reserved for drivers who will be partaking in the 3 hours solo. They will be flying under the Silver driver tag

FORMAT

  • 40 minute Practice session
  • 20 minute Qualification session (driver swaps allowed)
  • 3 hour Race.

The start of the 40min Practice session is the posted time for the event, ergo the actual race will start roughly 1 hour after. Teams will have 50 dry tire sets to be used across practice, qualification, and race. Maximum driver stint time will be 50 minutes (ensuring a 3 stop minimum) with Teams limited to 1-2 drivers each.

ENDURANCE RACES

As we hope most of you are aware of: there are some peculiarities with ACC endurance racing. Specifically, it is vital that drivers join in the correct order, with the starting driver (driver #1) joining the server before anyone else. If you fail to do so, you break your entry in the server and you won't be able to participate in the race. If this is your first endurance race, please read up on instructions and you should be fine. Note however that we will not restart the server to reset your entry if you break it.

Custom Liveries

DRL Manages Liveries through the Awesome-Simracing app. Instructions on how to upload and download liveries is provided here. Please adhere to DRL's Code of conduct rules when designing your livery. When in doubt - if it isn't PG-13, leave it out.

Supporting DRL

If you want to support Delta Racing League, we have a Patreon page. The proceeds are only used to cover server costs--all officials and stewards are volunteer.
