Sporting Regulations

1. General Overview

1.1 This league is an online Formula 1 racing series designed to provide competitive, fair, and respectful racing.

1.2 The league is open-entry, meaning no prior registration is required to participate in individual events.

1.3 There is no Constructors’ Championship. All results and points apply only to drivers.

1.4 These regulations are inspired by the FIA Formula 1 Sporting Regulations and adapted for online competition.

1.5 Participation in any session implies acceptance of all league rules and steward decisions.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Any driver may participate provided they:

  1. Follow league conduct rules
  2. Use the correct car and settings defined for the event
  3. Race respectfully and safely
2.2 League administrators reserve the right to remove or penalize drivers who repeatedly violate rules or display unsporting behavior.

3. Championship Format

3.1 The championship consists of multiple race rounds on a predefined calendar.

3.2 Each round may include:

  1. Practice (optional)
  2. Qualifying
  3. Race
3.3 Drivers may participate in as many or as few rounds as they wish.

3.4 Points are awarded per race and accumulate toward the Drivers’ Championship only.

4. Points System

4.1 Race Points (Top 10):

  1. 1st – 25
  2. 2nd – 18
  3. 3rd – 15
  4. 4th – 12
  5. 5th – 10
  6. 6th – 8
  7. 7th – 6
  8. 8th – 4
  9. 9th – 2
  10. 10th – 1
4. No bonus points are awarded unless explicitly stated for a specific season.

5. Cars and Settings

5.1 Only the designated Formula 1 cars selected by the league may be used.

5.2 Car performance settings must comply with the event configuration (equal performance unless stated otherwise).

5.3 Exploits, glitches, or unintended game mechanics are strictly prohibited.

6. Track Limits

6.1 Drivers must keep at least two wheels within track limits at all times.

6.2 Gaining a lasting advantage by exceeding track limits may result in:

  1. Time penalties
  2. Position penalties
  3. Post-race sanctions
6.3 Automated track limit penalties must be respected when enabled.

7. Driving Conduct

7.1 Clean racing is mandatory. Drivers must:

  1. Leave racing room when alongside
  2. Avoid dive-bombing or unrealistic lunges
  3. Rejoin the track safely
7.2 Contact avoidance is the responsibility of all drivers involved.

7.3 Blue flags must be respected immediately.

7.4 Blocking, weaving, or defensive moves under braking are prohibited.

8. Incidents and Penalties

8.1 Stewards may issue:

  1. Warnings
  2. Time penalties
  3. Grid penalties
  4. Points deductions
  5. Event or league bans
8.2 Penalties may be applied during or after the race.

8.3 Repeated offenses may result in escalating penalties.

9. Qualifying Rules

9.1 Qualifying format will be announced per event (short, full, or one-shot).

9.2 Drivers on flying laps must be given reasonable space.

9.3 Impeding another driver on a flying lap may result in a grid penalty.

10. Race Start Procedures

10.1 Starts may be standing or rolling, depending on event settings.

10.2 Jump starts or intentional false starts may result in penalties.

10.3 Drivers must maintain formation discipline until the race start signal.

11. Safety Car & Virtual Safety Car

11.1 Safety Car (SC) and Virtual Safety Car (VSC) rules follow in-game behavior.

11.2 Drivers must:

  1. Maintain required delta
  2. Avoid overtaking unless permitted
  3. Stay in single file unless instructed otherwise
11.3 Violations under SC or VSC conditions carry severe penalties.

12. Race Completion & Classification

12.1 Drivers must complete at least 50% of race distance to be classified.

12.2 Final classifications are provisional until steward review is complete.

12.3 Disconnects will be handled on a case-by-case basis and do not guarantee compensation.

13. Protests and Stewarding

13.1 Incident reports must be submitted within the league’s defined protest window.

13.2 Video evidence is strongly recommended.

13.3 Steward decisions are final.

14. Sportsmanship & Behavior

14.1 Respect toward other drivers, stewards, and administrators is mandatory.

14.2 Abusive language, harassment, or intentional wrecking will not be tolerated.

14.3 Drivers represent the league and are expected to act professionally at all times.

15. Amendments

15.1 League administrators reserve the right to amend these rules at any time for fairness, safety, or clarity.

15.2 Any changes will be communicated prior to taking effect.
