There will be a 10-minute Free Practice, Superpole Qualifying (expect around 30 minutes), and a 24h Race.

  • Race: Around 10:40 AM UTC / 5:40 AM EDT

The stint timer for this event is set to 70 minutes.

Stewarding

There will be live stewarding. Incidents with contacts don't need to be reported as the software picks up all the contacts. All other incidents (blue flags, dangerous driving, overtaking under yellow, speeding during full course yellow, overtaking during the safety car, etc) should be reported with the following form: INSERT FORM HERE.

Full course yellow

In the event of an accident or a car rendered inoperable in a dangerous location, race control may call a 'Full Course Yellow'

  • Drivers will reduce their speed to a maximum of 100kph or 62.1 mph and maintain that pace until further notice
  • Laptimes will be monitored and cars exceeding the speed limit will be penalized
  • Return to race pace will get count-down called over the radio unless a safety car is deployed

Safety Car

In an accident deemed to be severe, the safety car will be deployed. All cars will pass the safety car in a safe manner until the race leader approaches the safety car where the race leader and all cars behind will follow single file leaving an appropriate gap between each other.

  • Drivers will not unlap themselves once the leader has reached the safety car
  • Cars will maintain their current on-track position, and NOT reshuffle to their race position
  • Pitting under a safety car is allowed
  • Vehicle collision will be enabled, so leave an appropriate gap
  • Safety car duration will depend on the severity of the accident
  • When the safety car is coming in (in lap), drivers will be notified, and be prompted to organize into bunching up the pack, leaving a cars length to the car in front of you.
  • The race will leader and into all the other pits cars will slow and maintain 100kph / 62.1mph and the safety car will pull into the pits.
  • The race restart is commenced when the race leader begins to accelerate to full throttle/race speed, which can be done at any time between 'The Chicane' (T19) and the finish/timing line.
  • No passes can be made before the finish/timing line

Special rules

Limited tires

You get 16 tire sets for the event, you'll need to strategize what you want to do for each stint.

Mandatory pitstops

You have to perform 2 mandatory brake changes throughout the race.

Custom liveries

The use of custom liveries made outside of the game is permitted in this event. You can upload your custom liveries on the Awesome Simracing website. However, the use of these liveries is not officially supported by the game developers. Please be aware that running external custom liveries can induce significant client-side lag when another user connects or disconnects.

Rules

Our race rules can be found on our website, being in our discord is also mandatory for communication. Incidents can be reported after the race in the 'Admin' section on SimGrid. To make things very clear for our stewards and other drivers, please set your discord username to the same as your in-game name.

CHARITY EVENT

As this is a charity event, we’ve decided to support Extra Life, an organization that raises money through gaming and streaming for children’s hospitals across the US and Canada.  And, not only can we raise money as a league, but each team is welcome to participate as well!  You simply go to our team site (https://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.team&teamID=61531) and hit that “Join Our Team” button.  You can then sign up, set a goal, and participate in this year’s fundraising.

As with most of our races, we will be broadcasting the event via our Twitch channel.  We would like to be able to feature our streaming teams.  We’re asking anyone streaming and part of the Extra Life team to fill out this Google form so we can visit your stream during the broadcast as well as share your fundraising link in the chat.  This is a team effort and by joining the team, you can raise funds for your local children’s hospital.https://forms.gle/2GsfTBe4FmAK9rMR6
