OVERVIEW

The Sim Grid Endurance Cup is back for season two with some improvements that you all will love!

At the end of season one, the common feedback we received was for a longer season and longer races. So, this time The Sim Grid Endurance Cup will feature 5 rounds (held every 4 weeks) and the first four rounds will be 4h in duration and the finale will be 8h in duration.

Not only that, but the Endurance Cup will now have a third and fourth split available and each split will be extended to accommodate 45 cars on the grid!

Minimum team size is 2 drivers. Maximum team size is 4 drivers.

REGISTRATION

There is no limit to the number of teams that can register to this series. However, all teams must complete the qualification process (detailed below) and the fastest 135 teams will enter the series and all other teams will be made Reserve.

The fastest 45 teams will enter split 1, the next 45 into split 2 and the final 45 into split 3.

Registration opens Friday 16th October 20:00CEST.

QUALIFICATION PROCESS

Once you have registered, all drivers in the team need to complete at least 1 session on the qualification server using the car they are registered with. A session is a minimum of 10 timed, valid laps (out-laps do not count!). The lap times will then be averaged and drivers sorted based on their average lap time. The top 45 teams will be in split 1, the next 45 in split 2 and final 45 in split 3. Drivers are limited to 5 sessions.

NOTE - Practice 1 and Qualifying sessions are only for the driver doing the qualifying (this can be any driver in the team). No other driver should connect to the server unless you do so by using the spectator password.

NOTE - Practice 2 is for each driver to connect. Make sure that Driver 1 (the starting driver) is fully connected and driving the car before any team mate attempts to connect to the server to avoid `driver offline` errors as these can only be resolved by a full server restart.

PIT STOPS AND STINT TIMERS

Drivers are limited to a stint timer of 65minutes. This stint timer is reset upon leaving the pit lane (although not if you're serving a drive through penalty). Drivers can make their pit stops whenever they like within that 65minute stint timer, however your team will receive a penalty if you exceed the stint timer.

The team will receive a penalty of 130seconds if all drivers do not drive a stint.

MAXIMUM DRIVER TIME

2 Driver Teams - 210minutes
3 Driver Teams - 140minutes
4 Driver Teams - 105minutes

for R5 8h Silverstone:
2 Driver Teams - 390minutes
3 Driver Teams - 260minutes
4 Driver Teams - 195minutes

RACE TYRE SETS

Tyre sets will be limited to race duration + 1.

STEWARDING

All four splits of the Endurance Cup will have both live and post-race stewarding. All reports are to be made through the Google form which is available on dedicated channels on Discord.

CUSTOM BOP

The Sim Grid uses a custom BoP (Balance of Performance) to keep the performance at any given track more equal across all cars than it is by default.

Once the 2020 DLC releases, the 2020 BoP will be used instead of the 2019 BoP. If the 2020 DLC does not release before Round 1 at Barcelona then our custom BoP values detailed below will be used. If the 2020 DLC releases before Round 1, then the 2020 BoP will be used instead.

Barcelona:

Audi - 30kg
Porsche - 45kg

Imola / Zolder / Paul Ricard / Silverstone:

No custom BoP applied

CUSTOM LIVERIES

The use of custom liveries made outside of the game is permitted in this endurance series but please bear in mind that they are not officially supported by the game developers and their use can induce significant lag for the user.

Races in Split 1 will be live streamed on YouTube and custom liveries can be shared in a dedicated channel on discord for the stream broadcaster to run.

Any politically charged or potentially offensive material on a custom livery will see the team banned from the series.

To avoid the significant lag that custom liveries bring, we suggest that drivers run the livery but without the .png file.

WITHDRAW AND RESERVES

If a team is unavailable to attend a round in the championship, then use the withdraw function. This is found by clicking on the `Races` tab, and then `Admin` on the round you need to withdraw from. There you will find the withdraw button. Please check the info tab to see how many signouts are permitted.

If a team has withdrawn from a race, but wish to attend the race after all, please contact a member of Event staff as the slot may have already been filled by a Reserve team.

If you are a reserve team, you can see if teams have withdrawn from a round on the same `Admin` tab on each round. If you see a team has withdrawn and you wish to take their place, please contact a member of Event staff.

Reserve teams are expected to be available at the event time on race day so they can race if other drivers fail to turn up without reporting absence.
