The Sim Grid Sprint Cup is back for a second season and with some significant changes to the previous format.
The Sim Grid Sprint Cup is now a 2 driver team based series where each round will feature a 90 minute race with a driver swap during a pit window mid-way through the race. By moving to a driver swap based format, we will be able to get more drivers involved in the series and provide live stewarding across all 4 of the splits which usually means a better quality of racing!
The series has 4 splits available, each split has availability for 35 cars. With each car featuring 2 drivers, this means that The Sim Grid Sprint Cup will have 280 drivers racing!
Teams must have 2 drivers. Any solo registered drivers will be removed.
The first 140 teams to register will secure a slot in one of the splits of the series (as long as the teams also set the required qualification laps).
Any teams that sign up after the initial 140 will be listed as a Reserve team. Reserve teams also need to set laps on the qualification server so you will be listed as a Reserve for a split that matches your pace level.
The first 70 of 140 full series slots open at 20:00 CEST on Friday 16th October. The final 70 full series slots and 20 reserve slots will open at 20:00 CEST on Saturday 17th October.
Once you have registered, all drivers in the team need to complete at least 1 session on the qualification server using the car they are registered with. A session is a minimum of 10 timed, valid laps (out-laps do not count!). The lap times will then be averaged and drivers sorted based on their average lap time. The top 35 teams will be in split 1, the next 35 in split 2 and so on. Drivers are limited to 5 sessions.

The use of custom liveries made outside of the game is permitted in this sprint series but please bear in mind that they are not officially supported by the game developers and their use can induce significant lag for the user.
Races in Split 1 will be live streamed on YouTube and custom liveries can be shared in a dedicated channel on discord for the stream broadcaster to run.
Any politically charged or potentially offensive material on a custom livery will see that driver banned from the series.
To avoid the significant lag that custom liveries bring, we suggest that drivers run the livery but without the .png file.
If a team is unavailable to attend a round in the championship, then use the withdraw function. This is found by clicking on the `Races` tab, and then `Admin` on the round you need to withdraw from. There you will find the withdraw button. Please check the info tab to see how many signouts are permitted.
If a team has withdrawn from a race, but wish to attend the race after all, please contact a member of League &Event staff as the slot may have already been filled by a Reserve team.
If you are a reserve team, you can see if teams have withdrawn from a round on the same `Admin` tab on each round. If you see a team has withdrawn and you wish to take their place, please contact a member of League &Event staff.
Reserve teams are expected to be available at the event time on race day so they can race if other drivers fail to turn up without reporting absence.
