Positive Perception LMU Season 1

Rules and Procedures

Welcome to the first season of Positive Perception LMU, an exciting 5-round championship featuring Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) and Le Mans GT3 (LMGT3) classes in Le Mans Ultimate (LMU). Whether you're a seasoned competitor or new to endurance racing, this series offers thrilling, close-quarters action streamed live on the Positive Perception YouTube channel.

Series Overview

  • Classes: Drivers can compete in either the Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) or Le Mans GT3 (LMGT3) categories. There will be no Pro/Silver/Am splits within these classes.

  • Event Schedule: Each event consists of:

    • 19:00 UK – 30-minute FP1 session

    • 19:35 UK – 20-minute solo qualifying session

    • 20:00 UK – 60-minute race

  • Tracks and Dates:

    • Round 1 – Monza (27/02/2025)

    • Round 2 – Sebring (13/03/2025)

    • Round 3 – Spa-Francorchamps (10/04/2025)

    • Round 4 – Fuji (24/04/2025)

    • Round 5 – Bahrain (08/05/2025)

Practice Server

There will be no practice server for this series. Drivers are encouraged to practice offline. This decision has been made to avoid external hosting costs associated with Le Mans Ultimate at this time.

General Rules

  1. Car Selection: Drivers must select a car from either the LMH or LMGT3 class at the start of the season.

    • Car Changes: Drivers are allowed one car change per season, which must be submitted at least 1 hour before the server start time. A 50-point deduction will be applied to both class and overall championship standings for car changes.

  2. Attendance: Drivers unable to attend a race must sign out via SimGrid at least 1 hour before the event starts.

    • Failing to sign out will result in removal from the grid, with spots offered to drivers on the reserve list.

    • Drivers may sign out of a maximum of two events per season.

  3. Track Limits and Etiquette:

    • Respect track limits: Stay within the white lines unless avoiding an incident.

    • If you gain a position through contact, redress immediately. Failure to do so will result in penalties.

    • Treat all competitors respectfully. Close racing is encouraged, but reckless driving is not tolerated.

    • Take special care during lap one as the grid will be bunched & due to tyre warmers not being modelled, cold tyres.

  4. Pit Stops:

    • The pitlane entry, exit lines, and speed limit must always be observed.

    • Drivers are responsible for understanding the pit procedures and server settings for each round.

  5. In-Game Chat:

    • Text chat is prohibited during sessions until all cars have finished. Violations may result in penalties.

  6. Weather Settings: The weather conditions will be released before each round.

  7. Race Start: The race will begin with an in-game rolling start procedure. Drivers must follow the automated system to avoid penalties.

Stewarding

  • Casual Stewarding: As this is a more relaxed series, stewarding will be conducted by a single admin. Drivers are encouraged to review incidents thoroughly before filing a protest.

  • Protests must be submitted via the provided form within 24 hours after the event. Protests should include:

    • Time and place of the incident

    • Competitors involved

    • A clear explanation of the incident

Penalties

To maintain clean and respectful racing, the following penalties may be applied:

  • Warnings

  • Race Licence Penalty Points

  • Race Position Penalties

  • Championship Points Deductions

  • Race Disqualifications

  • Race Bans

  • Championship Bans

Drivers accrue a maximum of 6 penalty points before facing potential race bans. Points may be reduced by participating in two consecutive incident-free races.

Points System

Points will be awarded for overall and class standings as follows: 1st – 30, 2nd – 26, 3rd – 24, 4th – 22, 5th – 20, 6th – 19, … 25th – 1 The championship standings will be based on each driver’s best 4 rounds. Tiebreakers will be decided by the highest single-round score, followed by qualifying averages.
